As the teenage son of a heavy metal rock star, Gil became deeply involved in the “fast-paced” music industry at an early age, yet he struggled to find true peace or purpose. As an unsettled youth in a troubled home, he turned to rebellion, fighting in school and vandalism even before reaching his 16th birthday.

As a young man, searching for an identity in all the wrong areas, Gil found himself wrestling with an unfulfilled life of crime and drugs, while performing at music concerts as a rapper for years in the mid-west area. Suddenly, after a near-death experience while driving, Gil realized that God had spared his life.

The fulfillment in life Gil searched for was finally found when he dusted off an old Bible from his closet, given to him years before with no intentions of reading it. Gil experienced a life-changing encounter with Jesus and was brought out of the unhappiness in the music industry into a new freedom with Christ.

Today, Gil Ricketts is a dynamic speaker that travels around passionately sharing the love of God and presenting the Bibles’ prophecies in a simple and clear way. He considers sharing Jesus’ message with the world an absolute privilege and his energetic approach and ability to connect with people from many backgrounds has engaged many to face the future by making decisions for Christ.
